The word “cornerstone” describes the first foundation stone set in the corner of a building. Once that is set, the rest of the building can then be built on top of it. I like to use that word to describe how the Gospel fits into our training model here at ALERT. The Gospel is the foundation that makes the rest of what we do here at ALERT worthwhile. Remove the Gospel, and there is nothing extraordinary about our training here. Yes we may give guys skills, discipline, and camaraderie. But at the end of the day, if our training is not built on the cornerstone of the Gospel, there is no eternal value in what we are doing here at ALERT. Please pray for us that we would always keep the Gospel at the center of our training, and may the Gospel be the cornerstone of your life as well.
