First off, I would like to express my gratitude to each of you who supported the ALERT Missions class through your prayers and financial support during our trip to Poland. God answered your prayers throughout the trip in many ways: Our air travel and connections went smoothly (we only missing one connecting flight, causing only a minor delay). We were given opportunities to be an encouragement and help to our hosts. There was an opportunity for each of us to share our stories of how God has worked in our lives with the host church at their mid-week service. We got the chance to serve at a refugee center as Ukrainian refugees came and went on their travels to the rest of Europe.
As I look back at our trip, I would like to ask you to continue to pray. Please pray for the millions of people whose lives are affected by the war in Ukraine, and that God would use this movement of peoples to be the means by which many come in contact with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray that the Church would see the opportunity in this situation to love and serve the refugees as they live out some of the practical effects of the Gospel in their service and welcoming of the needy. And finally, please pray for each of the ALERT men who went on the trip that God would continue to soften their hearts and grow them in their love for God and the world. As they move back into the American culture and way of life, pray that they would not forget the lessons God taught them in Poland. |
