Though the past weekend was a little bit hectic with some canceled flights and late arrivals, the Battalion is settling into the groove for the upcoming quarter. Our winter Battalion is 64 men strong: 44 men in 2nd Phase, 8 in Leadership & Communications, and 12 on the leadership team.
This quarter's activity really started last week for me and the leadership team. We spent Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and half of Saturday talking about leadership principles, the nuts and bolts of battalion leadership roles, studying God's word and praying together, and getting the dorm ready for the arrival of the students. It looks like this quarter will be very busy (as winter quarters always are), with both the 30 Year Reunion and a three-week dive and deployment trip in February, and a 2nd Phase size that requires dividing the group in half and teaching most of the classes twice.
As we train, please pray for God to: Keep us humbly mindful that we don't have what these men need, only God does Bless the unit leaders' efforts to build trust with their men Work in the heart of each student just how He knows they need it Grant me and the rest of the leadership team wisdom as we make decisions about many different situations throughout the quarter
