Last weekend marked the transition between the summer and fall training quarters here at ALERT. During the summer quarter we had 2nd Phase and a flight student working towards his instrument rating. The quarter went very well, and we are thankful for what God did in each of the men’s lives last quarter. One highlight from last quarter was the opportunity to deploy the Battalion at the request of the Kilgore Police Department for a missing person search in early July. Praise the Lord they were able to quickly find the individual and assist with evacuating him out of the woods for medical treatment. They also deployed to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area to respond after severe storms caused extensive tree damage.

This quarter there are five advanced training classes running: Aquatics, Basic Training Cadre, Construction, Missions, and Tech Rescue. Additionally, Unit 69 begins training next Thursday, September 7. Please pray for God to do His work in the instructors, students, and Battalion leadership over the next 12 weeks. Also, please pray for the cadre as they train this week and next, and pray for each of the men coming next week for Basic Training.
