Whenever I share the Gospel, I keep in the back of my head a saying by Greg Koukl: “Bad news first, good news second.” We must know we have a problem before we can understand why we need a Savior. One of the benefits of ALERT’s challenging environment is that it helps men see themselves more clearly. We want to help them realize that the struggles they face are not things that they can deal with on their own. Once they realize their need, they can better understand the significance of the Gospel truth that apart from Christ, they can do nothing. The Gospel truly is the only thing that can transform our lives, not discipline, not self-help, and not hard work.
