In 1 John 2:1, Jesus is referred to as our advocate before God. Then a few verses later, and for almost all of the following chapter, we see that one of the main distinguishing marks of a Christian is that they have a genuine, God-given, self-sacrificial love and care for their fellow brothers in Christ Jesus! We are called to love and encourage one another as part of our identity as Christians. This camaraderie is one of the things I have seen so beautifully displayed throughout my time at ALERT. Men coming together to encourage and support one another as they strive to “spur one another on to love and good works” to the glory of God! Let us live out the love of Christ each day.
