Dear friends of ALERT,
I trust it was a good Christmas season for you all and a special opportunity to enjoy family, friends and most importantly be reminded in a new and fresh way the great gift God has given us in his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
This coming weekend we will be welcoming back 27 men to campus for our Emergency Response Training phase of the program. Please pray for us that we would be wise and prudent in how we use our time in discipleship and make the most of every opportunity. Our desire this semester – and in the future – is to put greater emphasis on outreach and sharing the gospel in our own community as well as continuing our tradition of reaching out to those in need as a result of disaster related events. We know Satan seeks to discourage us in these efforts through distractions or other “good” things that become enemies of the best things, so maintaining a course and focus will be imperative.
On Saturday, January 13th we will also be hosting a Crisis Response Training conference sponsored by the Billy Graham Association Chaplaincy program. We are excited about this training and would like to extend an invitation to those of you within a reasonable distance of our campus to come for this one day event. I know you’ll find it an encouragement as well as an opportunity to meet some of our staff and ALERT men in training. Please contact me for more details if you wish to attend.
We were truly blessed in 2017 to receive many financial gifts to help us sustain our program. Thank you so much for your prayers and support in this area. We truly could not carry on the work without you.
