Last week we kicked off this month's theme around "memories". It will be about making new memories with those you love, remembering old traditions from your childhood and re-igniting them, or possibly creating new traditions.
In week #1, I asked you to explore old memories that resonated as Hygge for you. This could be from your childhood or maybe it is a Hygge Lifestyle tradition you've longed to experience. I asked you to hold onto that feeling you felt while thinking of those experiences and ask yourself how you can bring more of those feelings into your present.
Last week, I challenged you to expand your possibilities for how you could create memories for yourself and your family. It could be trying something new, or doing something you all enjoy. I even shared how sometimes the "failures aren't failures" because the point of trying something other people enjoy is to connect with them, even if it isn't something you are good at. Laugh and connect with them as they laugh with you.
This week, I am going to challenge you to create memories by being resourceful. Often we think we can't do something because we don't have "whatever"...but how can you adjust to make it happen?
If you don't have the time off work for a big road trip, how about a jaunt to a local park that you haven't been to in a while or one you didn't know what there. We did that recently and discovered parks in the city that had amazing cultural sculptures featured amongst nature.
Can't find a specific board or card game but want to learn it? Some of my childhood memories are using homemade game boards or combining decks of cards and printing the rules of the game to just play it without the fancy cards. How can you get resourceful?
One day, I shocked my teenage daughter by creating a blanket fort and we read in that space all afternoon. Memories...
Remember - As an added challenge this month, I'd love to connect with you! Feel free to tag me on IG or Facebook Stories to share your Hygge challenge activities. I'd love to celebrate with you!
Until next week, see you in the Simply Hygge Facebook group!
Loads of Love,
Jacquie
