It's Hygge Time!

Your Week #1 Challenge Awaits...

This month's challenge has a "calming" theme. Let's explore what that could mean for you...

This month's energy has a positive ending, but a bit of a bumpy ride for many at the beginning. I keep getting a "holistic completion" message for the month. This tells me that no matter what happens this month we will find holistic ways to bring in some peace and positive energy for many in the world.

After much contemplation, I felt that finding some inner peace and knowing what calms us, both within our inner world and our home environment, would help everyone manage this storm with grace. It can be hard to find inner calm when there is chaos outside, but hygge principles have helped me manage my way through many storms over the years. Let's weather this one together, shall we?

In week #1, your challenge is to find comfortable places within your home that will give you a safe place for solitude, calming energy, peacefulness, and some balance. We call this your Hyggekrog.

This could be a spot where you can look at nature, have a lit candle for comfort, a place to read or journal, or meditate in prayer. This could be one spot or a few options depending upon your mood and need in a moment.

Mine is a corner of the couch that allows me to watch the tree move in the wind. I have a blanket and throw pillow to bring some comfort and I can light a candle if I need some added calmness. I also have a spot in my backyard for nice days that get me out in nature. Finally, my office has a chair that I use occasionally when I find myself surrounded by people in the house but need a moment to myself.

After you've found your spot(s), I'd like you to write yourself a love letter and ask yourself what signals are important for you to know when to slow down and seek moments within your Hyggekrog. Will it be tension within your body? Specific thought patterns or emotional cycles that impact your health and wellbeing?

Allow your soul to show you when to slow down and calm the inner storm. Please remember this. We will get through what's ahead because we have each other and we have Hygge to help keep us focused on what matters most to us.

Remember - As an added challenge this month, I'd love to connect with you! Feel free to tag me on IG or Facebook Stories to share your Hygge challenge activities. I'd love to celebrate with you!

Until next week, see you in the Simply Hygge Facebook group!

Loads of Love,

Jacquie
