Your donation would have a multiplicative impact. HMBFC provides more than a place to worship.
It is a community that acts as a bridge to connect people to one another,
and to hope and healing both inside and outside of its walls.
Since 2004, we
have built an outreach which includes:
- The Table – a free meal served
each Tuesday and Thursday evenings to 75-110 people. All are welcome.
- Preparation and delivery of dozens
of lunches to homeless camps around the city each Saturday, building
relationships along the way.
- Maintaining a Care Closet stocked
with basic necessities for local people in need.
- Collaborating with social service
nonprofits and local government to support people experiencing homelessness and
addiction.
- Welcoming ex-offenders living at
the Goodwill Center to give back to the community by volunteering during our
free meals.
- Providing space for Alcoholics
Anonymous and Al-anon groups to meet and support each other.
- Providing mental health support to
those who can’t afford to pay in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Pastoral
Institute.
We–and
the neighbors we serve–would appreciate your support so that we can fund our
community and keep our doors open and our kitchen cooking. |
