1. This scripture seems to imply that by being in God’s love
and thus loving others that we will have “complete joy”. Has that been your
experience? When is a time that you feel like you have been filled with joy as
a result of loving someone?
2. What does it mean that God no longer calls us servants but
calls us friends? The scripture says this is because the work of God has been
revealed to us. What does that say about our relationship to God?
3. What do you think about God saying, “You did not choose me, but I
chose you”? Is this comforting to you, does it make you uneasy?
4. The scripture says we were chosen so that we could bear
fruit. That’s a big command. For you, what does it look like to bear fruit?
5. Take a minute and picture someone who it has been difficult
for you to love lately. Now think about what it would look like for you to
extend love to them today. Are you willing to love someone when it is
difficult?
