| Nine ways to connect, pray, serve, create, and support:
|

Diaper Drive // drop-off
SUN 9:30am-1pm or TUES & THUR 4:30-6:30pm // thru SEP 30 // Throughout
September we are collecting for The Western PA Diaper Bank. Your
donation will provide diapers for
babies of low-income families in our area! Place donations in the blue bin
inside the parking lot entrance. Opened packs are accepted. Contact
e.p.jefferies@gmail.com. Collecting Donations for The Lofts // THIS SUN // Maggie
and her team are hard at work revamping our Lofts missional urban
retreat ministry: revising the programming, redesigning the website,
and refurbishing the third-floor apartment where our overnight guests
stay. To improve the experience for our guests, they are collecting NEW,
WHITE bed linens (twin size), pillows, and bath towels. Please bring your
contribution to the church by September 17. Contact maggie@hotmetalbridge.com.
Kitchen Crew Needs you // SUNDAYS starting SEP 3 // kitchen // Sara Miles writes, "To feed others means acknowledging our own hunger and at the same time acknowledging the amazing abundance we're fed with by God." Wanna have a spiritual epiphany like that? You can - by setting up, preparing, and/or cleaning up our Sunday fellowship meals! Click here to sign up now!
Sacred Space: A Contemplative Prayer Gathering // SUN
SEP 10 @ 6PM // main hall // We will explore spiritual practices that can benefit our
mental health, such as meditation and centering prayer. Contact jeff@hotmetalbridge.com.
Kintsugi
Worship // SUN
SEP 10 @ 7PM // main hall // Kintsugi Worship brings mental health and spirituality
together so that we find healing in our communion with God and with one
another. Kintsugi is a Japanese art form in which breaks and repairs are
treated as part of the object's history. Broken ceramics are carefully mended
by artisans with a lacquer resin mixed with precious metals. The repairs are
visible — yet beautiful. Contact jeff@hotmetalbridge.com.
Monthly
Art Nights // start
MON SEP 11@ 7pm // youth room // All artists and aspiring artists: come
together for an evening to create and hang out on the second Monday of each
month. Bring your own supplies or use what’s available. Bring a personal work
in progress or start something new – maybe even something that could be used in
an upcoming Sunday worship gathering! Gail Thompson, Laura Phillips, and Patty
Frankhouser are organizing the hangouts. Email p.frankhouser@gmail.com. Family Potluck Breakfast // SAT
SEP 16 @ 9:30am // main hall // Attention parents of children: there will
be adult conversation. That might be all you need to know. But also: it will be
a community conversation
on how to best support the younger members of our church in this next coming
year. Bring your favorite
breakfast food to share. After we eat, there will be childcare for the youngest
kids in the nursery in order for us to dialogue about what it means to belong
to one another in this season of life. Click here to RSVP.
Hot Metal Hullabaloo // FRI NOV 3 @ 7PM // Zenith // The
Hullabaloo is a party we are throwing to celebrate and fund our community, to
keep our doors open and our kitchen cooking. There will be good food &
drink, live music, live art, plus a silent auction AND raffle with lots of
fantastic prizes! HOW YOU CAN HELP: Recruit prizes and financial sponsorships
from local businesses! Letters and donation forms are available at the info
station. Email bethanyzski@gmail.com. UPDATE: Tickets on sale NOW!
