For the past several years the Table has been sponsoring a community Thanksgiving lunch for the Greater Pittsburgh Community serving between 75-100 people!
Since this is the largest meal we serve we need even more help than our typical Tuesday and Thursday Table meals. We need both food donations and volunteers who can commit to three hours.
Want to donate food? This year we are asking for people to donate sides. Specifically we are looking for stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, gravy, or any other dish you can sign up for. Side dishes not your thing? You could donate dessert. We’re looking for pies and whipped cream.
Want to donate your time? The morning shift begins at 9:30am. Volunteers can come in and lend a hand at decorating, table setting, or starting the preparation of sides that have been donated.
The lunch shift begins at 12:15. Volunteers who will be serving food will have a brief orientation and will be designated a task or station before the meal begins at 1pm. Some servers will take orders and deliver, others will plate back in the kitchen. Volunteers will also man the dessert table and serve pie to those finishing up.
The final shift begins at 2:45. Volunteers who arrive will help to restore the Hot Metal Kitchen and Main Hall to its pristine glory. We will wash dishes, wipe down tables, and sweep and mop.
We’re so excited to be able to host this event once again. Please email ericajharding15@gmail.com or sign up
here to help out!
