This gentle programme, for 4-8 olds, uses living books to create an age-appropriate programme for the early years. We have included many principles of a Charlotte Mason-style education as, although she was an educator from the 1800s, modern research continues to confirm the value and benefits of many of her ideas.

What’s included in Volume 2?

The same as in the first volume, in each theme there are 4 units. Each unit study contains a Bible reading, scripture memory verse, music appreciation, art appreciation, nature study and poetry. There are also 5 activities for you to do together ranging from developing fine and gross motor skills, arts and crafts, practical life skills, songs, rhymes and games.

Volume 2 includes 15 lovely South African picture story books to read together which relate to each theme. You also receive 12 art prints and 12 scripture memory cards for your children to study and memorise. The themes you will enjoy together are:

In the same mentoring style as Volume 1, in Volume 2, we offer a magnificent mommy manual which continues to encourage and equip you to be a successful home educator. The manual not only contains the content you need for the lessons mentioned above, but also quotes, articles, inspiring cameos of real homeschoolers lives and hundreds of ideas to develop deep family bonds.

This is what makes Barefoot Days and Kaalvoetpret different from every other curriculum on the market. We have included our years of homeschooling wisdom and experience in weekly nuggets and bite-sized bits within the pages of the parent guide.

While we will be open for orders throughout the summer holidays, we have a few key dates for you to take into account:

Orders placed and paid for by 1 December 2023 will be fulfilled before Christmas.

Orders placed and paid for after 1 December run the risk of only being delivered in the new year - around 15 January 2024.

If you are planning to order any of our programmes, please take into account a minimum of a 3-week time period from payment to delivery at this time of year.
