So... Rick Perry gets Religion (again)
by Daniel New

Isn't it quaint the way politicians can "get religion" when it might mean more votes for them?  Rick Perry recently received lots of press, and went to the top of the polls with his new-found interest in prayer and in courting the Evangelical bloc of voters.  And they have obliged him by swooning and opening up their pocketbooks.  I think I've seen this trick performed before, by the last Republican governor of Texas.  But hey, if it works, don't change it, right?

Perry is a populist, not a conservative.  In the observation of many Texans, he is as permanent as the winds of the great plains, and in just as many directions.  I'm not going to go into details - they're all over the internet if you want to know the truth about Rick Perry, and if you don't want to know, then you're not interested in the truth.

What caught my attention was that Perry recentlly woke up to the issue of the United Nations and to American soldiers being forced to serve under foreign commanders.

Bully for Rick Perry!

When George Bush was governor, he avoided the question like the plague, saying it was out of his jurisdiction.  When it became his jurisdiction, he continued to ignore it and our letters and petitions to protect our American military from being entangled in multi-national military adventures.  Instead of protecting a soldier like SPC Michael New, who was court-martialed for obeying his Oath of Enlistment, the only soldier ever court-martialed for wanting to serve his own country, George Bush stonewalled and protected former President Bill Clinton, who should have been impeached over this very issue, of giving away our military to foreign powers, and usurping the powers of Congress in the process.

So here is a genuine difference between Bush and Perry.  The Bushes were strong advocates of the New World Order, in speech and in practice.  Perry will speak out against foreign control of our military.  We cannot tell yet if he sees the root of the problem, and his advisors (if he is elected) will make sure that people like you and me - who want us to make the whole country a UN-free Zone - will not get anywhere close to him.  But then, by that time, the election will be over, and he might not care.

We don't know who educated Governor Perry on the subject, but it appears that someone has done so, and it's an issue which will resonate well with the American people.  It's an issue that cuts across party and ideological lines.  Liberals are no more enthusiastic about having their children forced to serve under the United Nations or other international agencies than are Conservatives (if for different reasons).

We do not expect to be enthusiastic about having Rick Perry in the White House - his knowledge of the Constitution seems to be flawed considerably.  (Although, we must admit, he showed real chutzpah in attempting to "educate" the Bilderberg Group about how the Federal System works.  What a hoot that must have been.  He thought he was there to teach them.  Most Texans could see what it really was all about.  It was a matter of running him through the chutes so his new owners could see what he looks like.)  But, then, he may be educable.  There's always hope.  Not to mention change.
