Registration at Heritage School of Midwifery is a 3 step process.  First, you make sure you meet all of the prerequisites.  Second, complete the application.  Third, if accepted, you will enroll in classes and pay for tuition.

The prerequisites are:
  • 18+ years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Have 3 college credits each in college level math and English with a grade of C or better OR a score of 45+ on the CLEP exam in those subjects
  • CPR certification for healthcare professionals from either the American Heart Association or the Red Cross.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics

Once you meet all of the prerequisites, you can start on the application.  We recommend you gather all of the following documents (except transcripts and payment) in digital format before starting the application.

  • Copy of birth certificate or drivers license
  • High School/GED diploma or official transcripts
  • College transcripts showing the required math and English credits, plus any credits you hope to transfer
  • Copy of CPR certification
  • Copy of NRP certification
  • Immunization records or waiver (see attached form)
  • Note from a doctor (chiropractic doctor is acceptable) stating that you are "in good health", and documenting any disability accommodations required, if any
  • 700-800 word essay titled "Why I Want to Be a Midwife".  Be prepared to copy and paste this into the online application.  You may need to fix formatting issues.
  • $150 nonrefundable application fee, paid via PayPal.  For other payment methods, please email me at MidwiferyHeritage@gmail.com before starting the application.

Transcripts must be unopened, official transcripts mailed to us directly from the school.

Once we have received payment and all of your documentation, we will schedule an interview with you. 

If you are accepted, you will then enter the enrollment process.

First, you will complete and submit the Enrollment Agreement and $100 Enrollment Fee.  Then you will be given a link to register for classes.  After you register, you will receive an invoice for tuition, based on the classes you will be taking the first semester.  Tuition must be paid by the first day of class, September 1st.

There will be a mandatory Student Orientation at the school on Monday, August 28th at 6:30pm.  At orientation, we will discuss school policies, show you around the school, and introduce you to Sycamore Campus, the school's online platform.

Then the fun begins!  We are so excited to be a part of your journey to midwifery.
