Hi Friend,
I still remember the first time I committed to a restorative yoga classâit was a 10 AM Monday morning session, and let me tell you, it felt like a pipe dream! Who has time for yoga on a Monday morning!! At the time, I was working for myself, but my mind was still stuck in the â9-5â programming. Could I really plan my day so that a mid-morning yoga class was possible? It took me six months to get there.
When I finally did, that one decision changed everything. I showed up to class, feeling awkward and unsure, but by the end of that hour, I was hooked. For the first time, I felt what it was like to prioritize my nervous system over my to-do list. It was powerfulâalmost rebelliousâand it set the tone for my entire week. I left that class and most Monday mornings thereafter; recharged, energized, and more clear than ever.
Whatâs funny is that showing up for that one class rippled into other areas of my life. I made two important friendships because of itâone with the teacher and the other with the barista at the coffee shop I would go to every Monday after class to work. I started to ask myself, Is this what balance feels like?
Up until then, relaxation had meant collapsing into a nap out of sheer exhaustion or âswitching offâ with a screen yet remaining tense and still buzzing. That class taught me something vital: relaxation is a skillâand like any skill, it can be learned.
So I'm curious Friend, would you say you prioritizeâyour to-do-list or your nervous system more?
If your nervous system deserves some some attention, Iâd love to invite you to tonightâs Full Moon Restorative Yoga class. Itâs the perfect space to cultivate relaxation, balance, and inner peaceâskills that ripple into every area of life.
