Hi Friend,
🌞 High summer vibes are here!
The sun is shining, the plants are in full bloom, and those long, warm evenings are perfect for making memories.
BUT as we pack our schedules with fun activities and important to-dos, it's easy to get stuck in the "I'm always busy" trap.
So it might be worth having a little think about...
how much of what you're doing is giving you energy?
and, how much of what you're doing is draining you, especially a few days later?
But I'm a multi-tasker at heart...
I have a natural disposition to burn the candles at both ends and I was brought up to complete tasks and assignment under stress and according to a deadline. Who wasn't??
The build up from behaviours along with post-traumatic stress have lead to times of chronic adrenal fatigue in my life. And similar to not finding the answers in the medical industry for my digestive issues, I have been on this quest to improve my health without resorting to pills or surgery.
So I continuously ask myself - what would my grandmothers have done? What would their grandmothers have done?
But meanwhile in 2024, I still like multi-tasking and I like even more when I'm doing one thing and get the benefits of another thing at the same time.
For example - eating a sweet apple gives you fiber, sustained energy and sweetness.
Whereas drinking apple juice gives you energy and sweetness.
Wheeas apple flavor gives you sweetness.
There's so much more to get from same thing but in a different form.
That's why I'm finding the addition of accupressure points into the yoga practice and also designing class according to organ health really inspiring! (I'm currently at the foot of the Catskills Moutains on the East Coast of USA fullfilling 150 hour of 300 hour yoga teacher training - I will have a lot more to share on that soon).
It feels like a missing link for me.
I'm having my cake and eating it twice.
Basking in the benefits for the physical body, the emotional body and internal organs and body systems at the same time.
It doesn't take much to give your body what it needs to recharge and regenerate. Sometimes, it’s about starting small changes that can become new habits.
Sit on a rock by a river
Walk while listening to birdsong
Walk barefoot on the grass
Get some dirt under your fingernails
These habits can give you more energy without spending a penny or visiting a doctor’s office.
But if your energy tank is running low and you need MORE energy to do everything, it’s time to rest and recharge.
