Lost logins
“Can you please send me through your logins to your website, host, domain name registrar and all of the bits that relate to your website, and then we can get started on your project.”

“Um. I have to go back through my emails to see if I kept them. Give me a minute.”

An hour later.

“I found my website login email, but I don’t know where my website is hosted or who my
domain name registrar is. I will have to get in touch with my old web designer to see if they know. The problem is they dropped off the planet to go backpacking in Uzbekistan, and I am not sure they will answer my email.”

Every client we have ever worked with has had a variation of this conversation.

We totally get that every person genuinely means to do the right thing with their website and online presence, but then life happens, and things get lost.

We understand what it is like when you are getting a new website built (or if you are making one yourself). There are so many moving parts and so many questions.

You get frustrated and overwhelmed all at the same time, and you mean to jot things down, but you are just so freaking grateful to get the website finally done and launched that it slips your mind.

Time passes, and then you forget all about having done or needing all your login details – until something goes horribly, gut-wrenchingly, wrong.

If you have staff, you need to read this post.

Marketing idea of the week
Business Idea of the Week
Round up your logins for your online presence when you are not under stress, and you don't need them to fix something right at this minute.

When you test each username and password for each site, update your password to something more secure than your child's/dog's/partner's name with a number after it (and write it down/save it in your password keeper).
We are full of bright ideas
