Subject: This ONE THING Is Critical For Managing Stress

Hi Friend,

I wanted to quickly share another SIMPLE, 4-minute stress management technique that has been working well for myself and our patients at the clinic who are managing pain .... and also their physical injuries.

As I've said before... I'm a permanent reminder service of things you already know but might not be doing! So, I'm here today to remind you to SLOW DOWN, BREATHE, and BE MINDFUL

Why bother with this? Sometimes it's so easy with all of your responsibilities to get wrapped up in life .... go into "auto-pilot," and we begin to hold tension in our bodies. We then start breathing shallowly, take in less oxygen, and forget to slow down. Then we are running around frantically, completely out of tune with the signals our body is giving us. In my opinion, this makes us more likely to injure ourselves, fall, trip, etc.

One of the simplest ways to tune into your body and SLOW DOWN is through timing your breath using "Box Breathing". This is sometimes also known as "square breathing." This can be done anywhere, at any time, in any position. I recommend lying down or seated, personally.

It's very simple, and goes like this:
  1. Breathe in for 4 seconds
  2. Hold for 4 seconds
  3. Exhale for 4 seconds
  4. Hold for 4 seconds

Do this for 4 minutes, daily for a month. Let me know how it goes.

Also, If you are looking to be more active and get your joints "travel-ready" once summer rolls around... (and COVID subsides), now is the time to get started! Reach out today!
