Subject: Practical solutions for tight hips

Hello Friend,

Do you have nagging hip pain that slows you down after sitting in your favorite chair for a while? Are you unable to walk nearly as far as you'd like around the neighborhood without hip discomfort slowing you down? Do you struggle to get up and down on the floor and play with your kids or grand kids?

You've tried stretching, yoga, injections... it feels like you've "done it all." Maybe you've even considered surgery.

Well, for the right person, that's always an option. But let's consider some possible things you could change TODAY, that may have a profound impact IMMEDIATELY.

You know ... I hear a lot every day from patients about "my joints are worn down" and "my joints are bone on bone."

Even if that's true, you can't change that.... You might be able to have surgery to help arthritis, but you still have to learn to move well and be mindful of your posture in a way that reduces stress on your joints. (On a positive note, I've seen some pretty gnarly X-rays / MRIs of people who should be in a lot more pain than they are .... but they are doing just fine with the right therapy... So imaging only means so much.)

Anyone that knows me, and has come through this clinic (practically everyone reading this), knows that I will preach until the end of time: Draw your awareness to your body and where it is in space ... Particularly your pelvis, in this case...  How are you sitting, standing, and walking? Are you doing those things with due diligence? (be honest with yourself!) Do you need another reminder from me? Start with this video below:
If you're unsure if you're doing the above things correctly ... or feel like you are spinning your wheels, We need to talk!

Think of this ... You get your car an oil change, you brush your teeth so your teeth don't fall out. Why are your joints any different? (Hint: they're not!) Your joints need constant lubrication, stimulation.... the muscles need strengthening (and in some cases, lengthening).

Perhaps you've fallen out of your exercise routine... or it feels those exercises are no longer cutting it. Reply to this email, and tell me what is going on.

Hey, one more thing... if you feel this email doesn't apply to you, but you know a friend or family member that you think it would help... Please forward this on to them. Thanks a million!
