Hi Friend,
Do you enjoy walking, but have found it more difficult over the years due to stiff feet or bunions? Certainly the latter of the two impacts women disproportionately, but bunions and stiff feet can slow down men or women.
Since our feet are the first thing to touch the ground, we need to take good care of them so we can remain mobile & able to enjoy active time with our families!
I have some thoughts ... |
| | General Tips:
- Start by not making the problem worse. We all love a good "flip-flop" or other flimsy footwear, but you're not doing your feet a favor. Reserve high-heels for limited, "special" occasions.
- Ladies, a platform shoe is a much better choice than a high-heel.
- A custom orthotic may be a life-saver here. The only way to know for certain is to be assessed by a Physical Therapist, Podiatrist, or other qualified professional.
Things you can do:
- You may not be able to change arthritis or damage that is already there, but you can work on improving the surrounding structures . As long as you are medically cleared, I recommend checking out the video above for some tips on how to get your foot more mobile, so it is able to help you walk longer distances.
- If your ankles are tight, make sure to check whether or not your calves are the problem. If they are very tight, it will cause problems in your feet as well.
- Still not solving the problem? Book a FREE Discovery consult with me, and we'll figure out how to get you walking with less pain or stiffness.

| Do you have a family or friend who you think would benefit from some rehabilitation with me? In order to provide the high-level of service that I do, I survive largely on word of mouth. Please let them know so I can continue to give my talents and skills to Old Town, Lansing. Can't think of anyone? A 2 sentence Google review is just as helpful! |
