Hello Friend, How are you? Are you hanging in there? What are you doing to help yourself manage stress and take care of yourself / your family?
I wanted to share a graphic illustration I saw recently on a FaceBook group: (credit: Carrie Stephans, TheCounselingTeacher.com)

| | After viewing the graphic, reply and share with me a few things you are focusing on that you CAN control, and what you are letting go of that you CANNOT control. For me, I just uninstalled the “News” application on my phone, and I am making an effort to be consistent with regular workouts.
What am I doing to keep Healthy Consumer Physical Therapy (HCPT) Safe?
Since opening Healthy Consumer Physical Therapy, I have ALWAYS taken infection control measures very seriously. I will CONTINUE to do so, with increased diligence throughout the duration of these uncertain times. Unlike a high-traffic location, such as a gym, HCPT is a controlled environment: with one door in, and one door out.
I have specialized training in infection control as a nurse. Each patient will be screened before entering our space. I am currently not taking on any new patients at this time, as I cannot be certain their understanding of proper precautions. There may come a point where I will need to shut down temporarily. I simply don’t know at this time, and will continue to monitor the situation.
NOTE: Please be patient and allow the last 5-10 minutes of your appointment to be reserved for proper sanitation. You will visibly SEE me wash my hands for 20 seconds before and after each session. If you do not see this, CALL ME OUT on it. I will always practice what I preach. You will also be required to do the same for hand washing (or use our complimentary hand sanitizer).
What will be happening over the next few weeks?
I have two things in works for the next few weeks:
First, I will be introducing, “The Coronavirus Back Pain Survival Guide.” This will be a virtual program for those cooped up at home, unable to attend their regular therapy or other fitness appointments. It will be designed to help keep your spine more mobile and pain-free, from the comfort of your own home. Even if this is not for you, please share this resource with someone who may benefit.
I’m considering hosting a virtual “Coffee time with Chris” over the next few weekends. We can use this time to discuss your concerns about the current uncertainty, and develop strategies to better cope with stress and anxiety. Please let me know if this interests you or not, so I can set it up.
Taking A Pulse Of HCPT
As a small business owner, the uncertainty is hard. Every time I get a bill, it feels like I’m being punched in the stomach. For everyone with steady income, please support local businesses however you can. For us, that means taking advantage of our virtual options, including Virtual Restorative Sessions, Virtual Therapy Sessions, and spreading word about our upcoming free “Coronavirus Survival Guides.”
If you have been putting off writing a Google or FaceBook review for our business, now would be a great time to help out. Click here for a Google review or here for a FaceBook review.
Our virtual sessions are not just another workout. Physical therapists are trained to assess and treat your specific problems, regardless of the venue. Our sessions will be individualized and also help keep you on track, motivated, and progressing under the direction of a professional.
Here’s what one of our patients, Jack, has said about our Virtual Therapy Sessions: |
| | We will get through this together. Personally, I’m going to come through this stronger, my family will be better connected, and I am taking time for my own self-care. I am thinking of each and every one of you and wishing you health and positivity during this time. We have to stay positive, stay active, and help each other.
