Subject: 3rd Update on Chris

Dear Valued Patients And Community:

As you are probably aware, I’ve had some of the most difficult health challenges of my life. Without going into too much detail, I’d go as far to say these challenges have been life-or-death.

In my recovery, I’ve encountered two very rare but severe medication reactions that have significantly delayed my full recovery in the timeframe I’d like. I know I will get there in time, I do believe that this too shall pass. It’s just like PT, in that things don’t happen as quickly as we’d like, right?

I have been working with a great team of medical advisors to get through what has proven to be the most difficult thing I have ever faced.

I value your continued support and patience in this challenging time for my whole family and me.

I bring this up for two reasons:

1) I may require some flexibility on our appointments, as some days are much more tolerable than others with my current health. I want to make sure that I am safe and capable of treating you or your family member. Be aware that my current side effects make driving difficult, so you may not see my car in the parking lot.

2) I’d be so grateful if we could keep our conversations focused on the reason you are here instead of things like “You look tired,” “you look ill,” or “you’ve lost weight!” I’m fully aware of these facts, yet I’m here because I love what I do, and treating you or your family members gives me purpose, which aids in my eventual full recovery. I’d prefer not to go into much detail about what happened to me, as I am still processing this.

I think of you daily, and am blessed you have been willing to stand by me as I have progressed through my medical condition. I ask for your continued support as we work towards getting back to fully serving you soon.

Thank you again for being patient, and I look forward to continuing to serve you.

Gratefully,
Dr. Chris Sovey, DPT, RN, BSN
