Iā€™ve lost count of the amount of Physical Therapy patients who have told me their sleep patterns have gone out the window since 2020.

I have dozens of patients staying up past 2 amā€¦. Even though they donā€™t really want to ā€¦ they just canā€™t seem to get back on track ā€¦.

And itā€™s not their faultā€¦. The unique circumstances of 2020-2021 forced everyone to isolateā€¦. Many are working from home, as well. So if we couldnā€™t see family and friends in person ā€¦ What else are we going to do?

Turn to screen time and junk food, of course šŸ˜‚! All the patients Iā€™ve spoken with are glued to their smartphones late into the night ā€¦ and even into the middle of the night, if they wake up ā€¦

To make matters worse, most people are feeling cruddy already ā€¦ depression and anxiety are rampant because of our lack of social interaction and interrupted routines. A lack of structure causes disorder.

Without deep, restful sleep ā€¦ Joints hurt more, we feel more fuzzy, irritable, and sad.
