Today I just wanted to pop into the grocery store to pick up some flowers to brighten up the area where I do my filming.

Remember back in the old days, when you could just pop in to the corner store, without a second thought...

Where you'd be greeted with a warm welcome and, "Can I help you find anything?" offered by a smiling clerk...

Where you might run into a neighbor or exchange pleasantries with a stranger as you browsed the shelves...

My, how things have changed.

The simple act of "popping in" to the grocery store is now an anxiety-riddle event for most of us.

Some people think that I have it easy; that I can just show up at a "public accommodation" and the doors are opened wide, and no one bats an eye at my bare face.

That is not the case at all.
