A Taste of Rhinebeck is on April 30th and tickets are going fast!
It only happens once a year: The village businesses open their doors and chefs line up along the streets to showcase their appetizers, entrees, beverages and desserts — all for a good cause.
The 15th annual A Taste of Rhinebeck food festival, fundraiser and culinary competition returns at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the village’s center. The culinary crawl features about 20 restaurants, spirit shops and specialty food retailers within a four-block radius.
“Rhinebeck is the perfect setting for a food and beverage crawl,” said Dawn Morrison, executive director of the Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation. “We are known for having great restaurants and we’re lucky that they are within a short walking distance. It really makes for a fun event.”
Taste raises about $25,000 for the hospital’s patient care services. It draws about 400 people.
It is also a competition. Last year’s crowd favorites included a Peppermint Patty sandwiched between two Oreos from Samuel’s Sweet Shop, a warm cauliflower soup with avocado toast from Bread Alone and The Amsterdam’s house paté.
The cost is $75 in advance or $100 at the registration tent in the Foster’s Coach House parking lot on the day of event. For tickets or more information, visit www.tasteofrhinebeck.com or call the NDH Foundation at 845-871-1711 (TTY: 800-421-1220).
