| | | So, What Can You Learn in the New "CONTACT FLOW DEEP DIVE" Matrix Video?
|
| Oh, a few things...
► Every Matrix Video has a text outline of principles explained and demonstrated. You can see these even if you haven't purchased an individual video or a membership.
For example, here are the notes accompanying
CONTACT
FLOW DEEP DIVE #1 -- (mtrx 2-17-18 1)
- Thinking, planning and
technique leads to stiffness and an inability to react spontaneously.
- Practicing the 5
Principles allows you to react without thinking.
- When you find 2 points of
contact that both connect to the opponent’s single point of balance, you
can unbalance them with ease.
- Sliding and Skimming
Energy (see Companion Part 3) allows you to intercept his arm with your
hand and Tool Replace (see Companion Part 3) your reference point to your
elbow against his upper arm or shoulder.
- You can add energy to the
direction a strike is going (while getting out of the way), but don’t
“block.”
- The arms as antenna.
- Don’t just push to take
balance -- blend, THEN take balance.
- GC has no prescribed
stances.
- Any position you arrive
at can be made into a momentary, balance-disrupting, “stance” by
dropping—and then abandoned.
- Follow with the body with
the arms as antenna.
- When the opponent gets
really stiff, that’s the signal to release and hit them like a china
plate.
- Follow/guide them where
they want to go, you can even add energy to help them get there.
- Blending and evasion is
done with no force and complete smoothness.
- Grace equals power.
- Visual precortical
reaction is tied to your kinesthetics (see it>feel it).
- If they fall back, hit
them, don’t let them regroup.
- You’re not “chasing”
their hands, you’re moment-by-moment feeling where they want to go,
letting or helping them get there and not being there when they arrive
while hitting them from where they can’t recover
(“Unavailable/Unavoidable”).
- You may break physical
contact to hit but only because your sensitivity told you you were
unavailable.
- If you feel their balance
is off you can unbalance them further to hit but if they are resisting
strongly (pushing) that is your signal that they are loading your spring
so you can release the suspension and break them with a shattering strike.
- Subtle, smooth Tool
Replacement training is critical to using the arms and whole body as
antennas.
- As they press to control
you they never gain purchase but at the same time they can’t get rid of
your hands as you keep returning on a different angle as your body changes
and your reference points get further up their arms and/or your shots get
deeper into their body and destroys their root.
- This principle of
“returning hands” is akin to an Anaconda taking up slack -- except that it
nevers squeezes.
- If they try to press to
stifle your strike you can isolate off of it by changing your body so your
strike is now essentially originating from a different place without
actually moving the pressed limb, allowing you to release and hit inside.
- You may FEEL to the
opponent that you are disengaged but you are always engaged somewhere or
somehow downloading information about their body.
- If they resist strongly
to a push you simply change your push vector slightly and they become
easier to push because they committed to the original direction. You
“Corkscrew” around it.
- Taking their balance
allows you to disconnect and hit BUT you are never “disengaged” where you
are not downloading information on their movement.
- This apparent
disengagement is what gives you the freedom to fight multiple attackers.
- You can then
hitchhike/ricochet/springboard off 1 attacker into the other.
- Your body is always
moving AS you are redirecting. This is also true for unbalancing the
opponent.
Now, would you like to see HOW to actually DO the above?
