| IN 2016 YOU CAN BECOME:
BETTER: Do you find your current training limiting? Or are you just starting out? Instead of rehashing a thousand years of hand-me-down classical methodology (that may or may not be accurate) and a hundred generations removed from the guy who created it, you can try something fresh from a living master with the best professional endorsements in the self-defense business. Example: "Split-Brain Writing"; a drill that teaches your brain to multi-task--like when you have to fight for your life against multiple opponents and each of your limbs has to do something different spontaneously with no pattern.
FASTER: Instead of trying to extract the life and death lessons allegedly buried deep within rigid forms practice and rules-based sparring, why not work the actual, universal principles common to all real violence? To do this, you can't just think outside the box. You have to get rid of the box--and strip all motion down to its primitive components: balance, body unity, looseness, sensitivity and total freedom of action. Nothing does this like Guided Chaos. Example: "The Vacuum Walk"; a drill to build maximal Dynamic Balance (as opposed to useless static balance) for evading, surviving and launching attacks.
MORE EFFICIENT: Some try to condense classical training into smaller packages to accelerate learning. But as long as you hold on to the patterned forms of classical training it doesn't matter how you slice it: you still have to carry all that baggage. Guided Chaos has no forms, no patterns, no preconceived techniques--only the fluid principles of raw violence and motion and how to augment them. Example: "Polishing the Sphere"; A totally free-form Balance, Body Unity and Looseness drill that teaches you how to form any weapon and hit from anywhere to anywhere with unmatched savagery.
