How to Know If Your Music School’s Marketing is Healthy!


Your studio’s website is your studio’s most important “sales asset.”


It’s the place you are going to send people to decide whether or not they want to work with you.


Here’s the question:


Is your studio marketing healthy?


Is your website doing its job?


Is it actually converting visitors into leads?


To know that, we have to do this simple “health check.”



Healthy Studio Checkup!


Step 1. Write down the number of people who reached out to you by email, contact form, or phone last month.


You might have to do a little digging to do this.


And - only write down the number of people who reached out as a result of visiting your website (for instance, if someone reaches out by phone, ask them how they found you. If they say “A friend told us about you”... don’t include them in this math problem).


Step 2. Write down the number of people who visited your website last month.


You can find this on your website’s dashboard (if you are using something like Wix, Weebly, Squarespace, etc.) or by looking at your Google Analytics dashboard.


If you are using a website builder like Wordpress, but haven’t installed a traffic tracker (like Analytics) then you will be unable to do this! And you need to install Analytics right away!


(It takes less than five minutes and it’s free… just Google “how to install Google Analytics on my website”)


Step 3. Divide your leads by your website visitor number.


If you had 5 leads and 100 website visitors… You would get your calculator and divide 5 by 100.


Your answer is 5%.


Step 4. Monitor these numbers monthly.


Over time, you will get a sense of your website’s effectiveness.


Now… You should be getting at least a 5% every month.


If not… it might be time “to call the doctor!”
