Starting today, you are going to receive an email from me EVERY DAY for the next few weeks. They will be fun and informative. They'll help you with enrollment, studio growth, and revenue.

However... if you are not a fan of email, you can unsubscribe from my email list right now by clicking here. You will never receive an email from me ever again.

Now, onto the fun stuff...

Recently, no less than 3 different podcasters that I listen to recommended a comedy that was a huge hit last year.

The show is called The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (the same people made the The Gilmore Girls and Bunheads). It's streaming on Amazon Prime.

So, I decided to give it a shot. (Fair warning: if you're easily shocked or offended, I would not recommend this series.)

Here's the premise:

Mrs. Maisel is a kind, funny, supportive, kind, intelligent, well-educated, kind housewife living on the upper West side of Manhattan in the late 1950's (did I mention she was kind?). Two kids, beautiful home overlooking Central Park.

She's the glue that holds her crazy family together...

... a son that frequently won't speak

... a husband who can't decide what to do with his life

... crazy in-laws

... controlling parents that live just a few floors above her

But, one day... it all comes crashing down around her. She learns some devastating news about her husband... and she just

SNAPS

In a fit of rage, she takes to the stage of an "open-mic" night at a seedy comedy club... and a star is born.
Unfortunately, she gets a little carried away during her rant... she's arrested for disturbing the peace, public indecency, operating without a performer's license, and swearing (yes, you could get arrested for swearing in Manhattan in 1958).

The next morning she gets bailed out by another performer at the club.... someone who has been arrested before and knows the ropes.

She finds out that she has to appear in court! What will her parents think? What will the community think? She's never been to court before! She's in the system now.

Miriam Maisel is freaking out!

She looks desperately at her friend and says:

"I don't know what to do!"

And he says, sincerely:

"It's morning! Go have breakfast!"

My friends... I have seen this story play out before... but with studio owners (minus the arrests for public indecency).

A music studio or music school owner is chugging along, in their routine, everything is fine. They are giving, kind, and have put a lot of effort into their business.

And then... BAM... something happens. Things go sideways.

Here's just a SAMPLING of incidents I've heard from studio owners in the past few months:
  • A hired teacher leaves a music school and takes a bunch of students (this has happened in more than one studio I've worked with this year)
  • The 2008 market crash caused a studio to lose 500 students in less than a year!
  • A property owner refuses to renew the lease on a music school... leaving the studio owner scrambling to find a place to teach all of their students
  • A belligerent parent begins spreading nasty comments and it has a noticeable impact on enrollment
  • Spouse has a job change and now a studio owner has to start from scratch in a new town
I could go on and on...

When your situation goes sideways... what are you going to do!?!?

I'm glad you asked.

Two weeks from today, I'm going to open enrollment for my program Studio Marketing Masterclass.

In this program, I will teach my complete system for attracting students at will... the system I've used in my studio for over five years. They system I have helped set up in dozens of studios and schools that have helped them increase their revenue by $1000's per month.

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be sending you some valuable ideas and give you a sneak peek at what that system looks like and how it works.

If you want to take control of your studio's results, this will be of HUGE importance to you.

When things go belly up, you'll have a game plan, you'll be calm under fire. You can just go and "have breakfast".

Stay tuned.

Best,
Daniel
