Subject: My Studio Logo Is Garbage

A short story and brief encouragement for you to today as you begin your week.

3.5 years ago I founded Grow Your Music Studio.

In that time, our team has helped 300+ studios grow, increase their revenue, build effective ad campaigns, start an effective group lesson program, and scale up with teachers and studio support staff.

And... in that same time... I have never had one studio owner comment on the fact that our business logo was created in Microsoft Paint.

That’s right... Grow is a mid-six figure business and the logo is a circle with a G in it.

Similarly, my own personal studio has larger margins than studios with 200, 300, even 400 children in it... and the studio logo was a piece of clip art I found in college 15 years ago.

Also, the “word mark” of my studio was also created in Microsoft Paint.
My logos are complete garbage... and I don’t care.

Why is that?

Because my clients don’t care about my logo. They only care if I can get them results.

Well, that leads me to my encouragement for today.

Most of the advice you might receive online about “what works” or “what matters” for your studio’s growth and profit has been greatly exaggerated!

Your logo doesn’t matter.

Your slogan / tag line doesn’t matter.

Your brand colors don’t matter.

The age of your website doesn’t matter.

How many social media channels you have doesn’t matter.

SEO doesn’t matter.

The variety or number of games you play in your studio doesn’t matter.

Bracelets for student attendance don’t matter.

How many recitals you do per year doesn’t matter.

Which curriculum or method book series you use in your studio doesn’t matter.

I could go on and on.

Your customers don’t care about that stuff.

They are distractions from the CORE of your business.

What is that core?

In my experience, there are three things that matter to your studio.

The Three Questions

If you want , answer these three questions:

1. What do your customers want?
2. Are you delivering that experience to them?
3. Do they understand that you are delivering that experience to them!!?!?

On its face, these are seemingly simple questions.

But, every studio problem that I’ve helped to address has boiled down to these three questions.

And - if you are not getting the results you want, the growth you want, the margins you want, the retention you want, the financial security your want...

My recommendation is that you focus on those three questions and forget about the tactics, hacks, and time-wasters mentioned above.

There will be plenty of time to focus on those things once the CORE of your studio business is fixed.

Speaking of fixing the core...

This is why I created Studio Marketing Masterclass.

It’s a 14 week program that focuses you on only the most essential parts of your studio business... and allows you to copy my studio marketing.

It is the program that I wished existed 10 years ago when I was struggling to reach the six-figure mark in my single-teacher studio.

The October class is beginning soon... if you’d like to join us, simply fill out the application here:

Yes, that is a calendar to speak with me.

Unlike every other studio growth program out there, I don’t just send you to a cart page and ask you to buy my product.

I personally do a marketing and growth evaluation of every single studio that enters this program.

You can get yours by clicking the button above.

To your success,

PS> My logo has been on my mind lately because we are rolling out a new website and branding over the next month or so.

I will have you know... I completely outsourced this project so that I could focus on Grow’s most important task...

Helping studio owners.
