For years, I put my camera on the tripod mount, and then used the tripod gears to move my camera and change the orientation. It worked.... for the most part.
Then I was at a shoot with a client and needed to switch from landscape to portrait orientation. I made the adjustments on the tripod gears, set up the shot, and then noticed the camera sloooooooowly creeping down. My tripod gears were getting a little loose and not holding the camera in position.
This was a problem.
After much research, I upgraded my tripod legs, geared head, and added an L-bracket. Ahhhhh the L-bracket! What a game-changer!
In our latest Field Note, we explore the ins and outs of using an L-bracket in your gear setup. I show you what I use, what an L-bracket is, and why it can be amazing for your on-location workflow. _ |
