Subject: Let's get personal.

The aftermath of a photography session + Meet our latest Friday Feature!

#atthegrove

You can tell me.

Where do the aches and pains hit ya after a long shoot wraps up?

Is it your feet that are super sore?

Is it your lower back that's tight and achy?

Is it your knees from all the squatting and standing?

Is it your arms from carrying things around a large property or up and down stairs?

When I first got into shooting interiors, I loved that it's a much slower paced photography than other genres.

In fact, my horribly aching wrists were the reason I had to officially stop doing event coverage years ago! (although it was super fun)

Even with the slow pace of interiors and architecture, though, we're still standing for many, many hours on our feet.

We're carrying loads of gear in and out of a property, setting things up and moving from one space to another all day long.

We're contorting our bodies into awkward positions in tight corners so we can get the shot we need.

And oh yes, we spend hooouuuuuurs in front of a computer editing photos until they look perfect.

In other words, it's still a workout!

So let's talk about... SELF-CARE 🇬🇵

To stay in this industry long-term, you need to keep your body and mind healthy. Most of us are one-person operations, so if we go down, there's no back-up!

In our latest Field Note, we take a look at what self-care is, why it's important, and some ways that you can incorporate it into your routine.

Self-care can be different things to different people, so after you read our latest Field Note, hit reply to this email and let me know what YOU do to take care of your body and mind so it can keep on goin'!
