Here is the background to the idea.

Firstly did you know that Greyhound favourites under a BSP (Betfair Starting Price) of 2.6 win only 45% of the time?

And as you drop down the price range that figure just goes up.

Under a BSP price of 2.00, they win 55.91% of the time.

“That’s fine” I hear you say…

…”But you can not make a profit on favourites”

No that’s true.

But there is another way to look at this.

If favourites are winning 50% of the time…

…Then that means the rest of the 5 runners are losing 50% of the time.

In fact, 2nd favourites only win 22% of the time when there is a strong favourite….

…And 3rd favourites only 17% of the time.

So our opportunity is not backing the favourites…

…But laying one of the other runners in the race when there is a strong favourite.
