| Life's Greatest Adventure!

A few months ago a client (with Sun and Mars in Gemini) asked how it was possible to follow a spiritual path when in her everyday life she is very busy with her retail business. To her the two seemed poles apart and the business seemed to be a distraction from her spiritual path. It's not easy, yet the ability to resolve duality is part of the spiritual path for someone with personal planets in Gemini. In reality, there is no separation. | On our spiritual journey, the challenge for each of us (whether we have personal planets in Gemini or not) is to marry the sacred and the mundane. We do this by bringing mindful awareness, or our presence, deeply to whatever we happen to be doing in the moment. My mentor, Anya, calls this "bringing the Being to the doing!"
There is probably nothing more mundane than the marketplace, with it's haggling, negotiating, and clinching a deal. It has the potential to bring out every aspect of human nature: our joy and pain, our kindness and our greed, our anger and our love, our fear and tranquility. …and that most modern of marketplaces, eBay, has the potential to bring out the 'human condition' even more intensely because it all happens over a distance with people we may never meet - so it intensifies our issues of fear and trust.
A few years ago, since I was increasingly, I decided to offload a lot of possessions that I'd acquired over time. Mostly books. People told me to 'stick them on eBay'. So I did, and realized that was easier said than done! With the support of my mentor I learned a lot in that experience, especially about how we have the power to make a difference in every interaction, by paying attention to our own energy. I 'brought the being to the doing' and showed up differently in each interaction as a result of her advice.
There was so much more to eBay than I had imagined. All the information you need is right there on eBay, but there is so much that it took days, if not weeks, of research trawling through the eBay 'university' just to find what was relevant to get started. As I often do, I documented everything and made notes, so I would be able to refer to them next time I wanted to do something on eBay. I then created a website called HowToEbay.INFO - where I shared everything in articles and videos so that others could hopefully cut through the confusion and get the necessary information more quickly than I did!
How is this relevant now? Well, I am about to embark upon another eBay project. I still have a lot of books - those that I had decided to keep when I did my last eBay sale - and I have decided it's now time to let them go. I probably won't read them even though there are some wonderful titles there. This time, instead of documenting the practical process of how to navigate through eBay, this is a wonderful opportunity to document the inner process as I once again 'bring the being to the doing' on a new eBay sale!
I have started a new blog called "Zen & Ebay"! Not that I know much about Zen but it was a catchy title that captures my intention! As I embark upon this new project I will journal about my experience of bringing mindfulness, or presence, to something as mundane as the eBay marketplace! Since I also have Sun in Gemini, it should prove to be an interesting experience in 'marrying the sacred and the mundane'.
Notice too, that it is still Taurus Season, as I lay the foundation, the groundwork, for this project. This is the perfect time for preparation, especially on a project that involves the Taurean theme of money! As we move closer to Gemini Season (May 21st) I should be moving into the active process of sales, negotiation and communication. We'll see! What I learned from my prior experience is that eBay really is all about good communication.
