Using the 'comments' area at the end of each article on LCM is a great way to join in the conversation and expand our learning. After this month's Scorpio article was published, Jo asked this great question, which is worthy of further exploration and consideration: "What if your Sun is in Scorpio? Lots of transformation, but not soul transformation yet?"
You can read the
full answer on LCM (and this month's
Scorpio article, of course!), and here I wanted to expand a bit more on second part of Jo's question - the idea of soul transformation. In my answer I explained that the soul itself doesn't transform as such because it is already perfect, but rather it's journey is one of a continuous unfolding, like a rosebud opening and blooming.
That unfolding process is how it appears to be from our current perspective. Astrology is all about perspective. We talk about the Sun being in Leo for example, yet the physical Sun is never IN the constellation of Leo. The constellation of Leo is light years away from our Sun and our solar system, and the two never meet! When we say the Sun is in Leo we mean that it appears to be so, from our perspective here on Earth.
Likewise with our soul's journey. From our current perspective it seems that our soul is passing through stages which we can understand from an astrological perspective, by using each sign of the zodiac to symbolize a different stage of the soul's journey.
We can think of it as an unfolding process, like the opening of a flower, yet it is really our own awareness that is opening like a rosebud.
As we connect more deeply with our own awareness we recognize increasingly subtler levels of existence which were always there, but we didn't have the capacity to perceive them. This is explained in more depth in "Soul Science". This unfolding process of our whole being, including body, mind and soul, is one of waking up to what already is. The more aware we become, the more our body, mind and soul changes to accommodate our new awareness. As we become more aware, our body changes to become more perceptive, more sensitive and able to detect the subtle energies and realms of existence that surround us.
We might experience these subtler energies as joy, love and peace. To us it might appear as though they have suddenly appeared - yet they have always been there. It is through our unfolding soul's journey that we become increasingly aware of 'all that is'. Your Rising Sign indicates which stage in this process your soul is.
"Soul Science" describes the process whereby we are all becoming more finely-tuned 'instruments of perception' through which we open our 'inner doors' and understand the workings of the Universe through direct perception. This is our ultimate purpose. There can be no greater adventure than discovering the truth of our existence: who we really are! See you next time, and in the meantime...
happy exploring!
Best Wishes,
Ruth
