| Life's Greatest Adventure!

On Monday we had the New Moon in Cancer. New Moons are always about planting seeds and when the New Moon is in Cancer it asks us:"What do you want to nurture in your life?"
We are now in the waxing phase of the Moon's cycle. During this phase plants become more active, drawing in nutrients from the ground and building reserves of energy. Between now and the Full Moon on July 22nd it is a time when you will more easily attract those resources and 'nutrients' you need to support your journey of self-exploration. It is the ideal time to focus your loving attention on, and nurture, those
areas of your life that you want to grow.
In addition to the New Moon, Jupiter has just entered Cancer which brings an expansive, beneficial quality to all our ventures towards growth. Jupiter is a planet of growth and benevolence and will be in Cancer until July 2014. Jupiter is also said to be 'exalted' in Cancer. When a planet is exalted it's energy is strong and it is most actively creative - we might say Jupiter is at his best in Cancer!
In a nutshell this is the beginning of a very auspicious twelve months in terms of our personal and spiritual development, if we plant our seeds carefully this week, with focused intent and conscious awareness. If we are in alignment with Life's natural rhythms and cycles, which means also aligning our highest purpose, there isn't anything we can't do right now!
It is important to remember that, just like a plant, Life also wants us to grow towards our highest potential. If things don't seem to be working out as we intended it's important to check in with ourselves and see where we might have fallen into fear-based reactions. This is also a time for lovingly picking ourselves up, licking our wounds, being gentle with ourselves, and carrying on. Every 'failure' is an opportunity to re-adjust our focus and see where we might be out of alignment with our higher purpose.
The sign of Cancer is all about transcending fear and cultivating intuition, compassion and unconditional love. (read more in this month's article on LCM "Cancer Rising: The Cancer Soul") The next twelve months while Jupiter is in Cancer will be a very important time in the evolution of human consciousness, but it requires each one of us to play our part by consciously focusing on cultivating these qualities within ourselves, and it begins right here and now with the New Moon in Cancer. It's time now, to set your highest intentions, and keep your attention there.
