| Life's Greatest Adventure! | | | | Hi Friend,
Love is in the air! I know - that's another one of those things that I seem to say a lot... but it is true (and especially at this time of year)!
On our spiritual journey, the more we realize our true nature, the simpler things become. At the level of our dualistic mind, which separates and divides our experience into a lot of this's and that's, there seem to be a myriad of 'things' in the world(s).
At the level of our Soul, once we have realized Universal Mind, there really is only Love... and Love really is ALL.
Now before I break out into a Beatles song (Love... Love ... Love...) let me show you why this week I am once again saying that "Love is in the air..."
|
| | First of all, I'm not talking about romantic love. I'm talking about the interplay of light as love. The Sun went into Gemini on May 20th heralding the start of this years Gemini Season and, esoterically, the sign of Gemini is all about right relationship and the interplay of light.
In a recent newsletter I explained how one of the highest purposes of Gemini at Soul level is to resolve duality by resolving polarities, in particular the 'marriage' of the head and the heart.
On June 5th (at 02:59 UTC) we had the New Moon in Gemini... so the current Moon cycle that we are in started in Gemini and will carry a Gemini 'flavor' over the next month...
And as I write Venus in Gemini is conjunct the Sun in Gemini (from May 24th 8:44 am UTC when Venus entered Gemini to 17th June at 6:39pm UTC when Venus enters Cancer). Now regular readers will know that in addition to being the goddess of love, Venus is also the Soul ruler of Gemini. U-huh. So you're beginning to get the picture? Yup. There's a whole lotta lovin' goin' on (that's another song). Can you feel it?
The Venus influence on Gemini is elevating our Gemini experience from the habitually mental activities of Mercury (Gemini's personality ruler) of talking, speaking, communicating and commerce, to the experience of heart opening and higher love. Your Gemini friends might even be quieter and more contemplative at the moment.
The Grand Mutable Cross Now as if that wasn't enough, we also have the influence of the Grand Mutable Cross. This is one of the big astrological events of 2016 where the Sun/Venus conjunction in Gemini is square* the Jupiter/ North Node conjunction in Virgo, which is square Saturn in Sagittarius, which is square Neptune conjunct the South Node in Pisces. All forming one big square or cross in the heavens.
Astrologer Austin Coppock's article "Carousel" is a pretty good description of how we might experience this energy at personality level (Thank you to Jodie Lewin of Braveheart Astrology for sharing that). Our personality tends to 'grasp' at all the myriad 'things' the mind conceives, and tries to hold on to them as if they were permanent and fixed (which is impossible when everything is spinning around in a hurricane). As Austin Coppock points out, "Discordant qualities- hot and cold, wet and dry, are joined together."
At personality level we can very much feel like a leaf being tossed around on a high wind. It's as though the polarities are 'forced together' to get our attention, but remember the higher purpose of Gemini is after all, to resolve all polarity, so this is the perfect opportunity for us to do just that. But how? Love. It is when we step into the center, and observe objectively (something Gemini is pretty good at) that we are able to see how everything is connected.
The Esoteric Meaning of The Grand Mutable Cross There is a higher purpose to everything and the purpose of this experience, is to get our attention off the 'things themselves' and draw our attention to the continuous interplay of light.
Esoterically, the Sun, Gemini, Jupiter and Virgo are all Ray 2 planets and signs. Ray 2 is the ray of love wisdom, otherwise known as the path of love. So esoterically we can see right away that there is a significant influx of love in this Grand Cross. We are being called up to experience a much greater Love than we have ever known and anchor it into the planet right now.
Saturn in Sagittarius is calling us up to be authentic in our search for higher meaning... asking what is really real? (If we search in the right place we will discover that what is really real... is love).
Neptune (in dignity) in it's own sign of Pisces is on Ray 6 (as is Sagittarius) - the Ray of idealism and devotion otherwise known as "the path of devotional idealism". Neptune contributes to our path of spiritual awakening through a three-step process of illusion - disillusion- and illumination. What do we see when all is illuminated? We see, that Love is all. Pisces is the sign of Universal Love and it's highest purpose at Soul level is the awakening of the sacred heart of humanity. (::phew:: I did say there was a lot going on).
The Nodal axis (North and South Nodes) is telling us something about our role in the society and what is required of us right now. The South Node in Pisces is a call at personality level to release all that is overly idealistic to the point of fantasy... and move to the highest vibration of Pisces which is Universal Love, while the North Node in Virgo is a call to not get bogged down in details but rather to move to the highest vibration of Virgo which is to flow Divine Love (and the sacred feminine) into the world through our work.
So as these planets square up to each other... we are challenged to shift our perspective so that we can see (and feel) the bigger picture. To not get distracted by looking at all the separate 'things' that seem to be swirling about in the ocean... but to keep our attention on the ocean and on trying to understand the nature of the ocean and life itself... as one entire experience of Love.
It is a good time right now for opening up your perceptual capacity by being more aware of light, energy, and love. Especially if you are able to get out in nature where the interplay of light is particularly visible. As you are walking by trees, flowers, and wild plants, practice gazing softly at the space between them, rather than looking at the things themselves, and you will become more aware of the qualities of light and energy that connects all things. If you really relax and allow your senses to open up, you will perceive that energy as love.

That's all for now! See you next week and, in the meantime... happy exploring!
Best Wishes,
Ruth
* a square is a challenging astrological aspect where two planets or points are at a 90º angle to one another, within an orb of 8º.
