The Seven Rays are rays of light and, just like the different colors of the rainbow, each Ray has a special quality that makes it distinct from the other rays. In Esoteric Astrology the Tibetan Master DK describes our solar system as a ‘Ray 2’  solar system so I want to talk a little bit about that. What does it mean? So first we need to take a look at Ray 2 and what its all about.

Ray 2 is known as the ray of love-wisdom, otherwise known as “the path of love”. What does that mean? In short it means the Beatles were right when they said, “Love is all”!

What is Love-Wisdom?

The idea that love is all, is one of the deepest spiritual truths. Our whole Solar System, including us, our world and everything in it arises from and will return to, love. Everything really IS love, yet this is something we cannot know with our mind. It is something that we can only know for sure, through our own direct experience once we are clear enough to percieve it.

Astrologically Ray 2 (Love-Wisdom) is associated with the Sun, Jupiter and with the signs of Gemini and Virgo. While Virgo is also associated with Ray 6 (the path of devotional idealism) Gemini is only associated with ray 2: love-wisdom.

Gemini is a sign of connection. A sign of communion. So with higher consciousness, we are able to perceive how everything in the Universe is connected. Esoterically one of the highest purposes of Gemini is “Right Human Relationship”. Right relationship between our human family and the world that we live in. Right relationship on this level means recognizing that we are part of the Universe and the Universe is part of us. There is no separation. So we can see how having personal planets in Gemini not only supports us on the path of right relationship but also supports us in developing the clear perception needed to realize that love is all.

Virgo is a sign of somatic awareness: the felt sense in the body. With higher consciousness we are able, through Virgo, to directly feel the flow of love through our own body to the Earth. Eileen Caddy (co-founder of the Findhorn spiritual community in Scotland) was a Virgo who used to often speak of ‘flowing love radiances into the Earth’. Virgo is also a sign of great discernment so we can see that, with higher consciousness, the sign of Virgo supports us in perceiving and discerning the flow of love through our own tangible, felt experience.

The Sun symbolizes the flow of ‘prana’ or life force energy. If we contemplate the Sun’s rays and the light of the Sun, with time we can also begin to perceive not only warmth but a tangible, quality of love that emanates from the Sun. Jupiter is associated with wisdom and the expansion of wisdom. With time and higher consciousness, through our meditation it is possible to perceive that love itself is also intelligent. That the very ‘substance’ from which all forms (including us) manifest in our Solar System, is in the nature of ‘intelligent love’, or love-wisdom. So everything really IS love, intelligent love. And we might say then, that 'love-wisdom' is the very substance fro which we, and our entire Universe, is made.

That's what gives you dignity, that the whole existence will miss you. The stars and sun and moon, the trees and birds and earth -- everything in the universe will feel a small place is vacant which cannot be filled by anybody except you. This gives you a tremendous joy, a fulfillment that you are related to existence, and existence cares for you. Once you are clean and clear, you can see tremendous love falling on you from all dimensions.

You are the highest evolution of existence, of intelligence, and it is dependent on you. If you grow higher than the mind and its intelligence, towards no-mind and its intelligence, existence is going to celebrate: one man again has reached to the ultimate peak. One part of existence has suddenly risen to the highest possibilities of the intrinsic potential in everybody.”
