Welcome to 2013 - A New Dawn
What does 2013 mean to you?
This is a time of year when many people focus on New Year resolutions and planning the forthcoming year. Setting intentions, identifying personal goals and desired outcomes. This morning an email dropped in with the subject header "Create Your Game Plan for 2013". My first thought was 'no more games'.
What do I mean by that? It seems to me that strategizing, planning how 'I' want the year to unfold, could easily take me away from 'what is'. It could be another distraction where my ego fools me into thinking it is in control. As we go deeper into our greatest adventure: our journey of self-exploration, we begin discerning between those activities that keep us outside of ourselves, like a dog chasing it's tail, and those that support our inner journey. Our true nature exists in the quiet space at the center, where all planning and strategizing has stopped.
There are many who believe we have just entered a new dawn, an era of spiritual awakening, in 2013. A time where we will be guided by our soul rather than our ego. Yet every day, indeed every moment, brings a new dawn if we allow it to. All we need to do is stay mindful: keep wakening to each moment, and choosing to place our attention in our heart center. We can still set intentions, even goals, provided we remain mindful of those goals that are aligning us with our soul, and which ones may simply be egoic distractions!
These contrasting yet equally beautiful videos show different perspectives of our journey. The second is an inner journey: "Activation of Solar Light Bodies" is a beautiful visualization from Patricia Cota-Robles, which was shared by Anya Sophia Mann on Life Coaching Magazine. They serve as a reminder of 'as above, so below': that through coming to know ourselves more deeply, we will come to understand the workings of the Universe. As we enter this new era of potential and possibility, consider what you would really want for yourself for 2013 and beyond, that aligns you with your highest self, and your soul's unfolding journey.See you next time, and in the meantime...happy exploring!
