Free entrepreneurship training in Tampa
Tampa is looking for business owners to be a part of the SBA Emerging Leaders program. Owners will go through the peer-to-peer curriculum StreetWise MBA initially created by Interise out of Boston. The program has had tremendous success around the country, even touting a former guest on my podcast Angela O’Byrne of Perez APC as one of its alumni.

Drive 8a with SBA
Last week I had the honor and privilege to host the SBA Region 4 Administrator Ashley Bell on my podcast. Appointed by the White House, he oversees 8 states and is responsible for more than $5B in small business contracts.
He discussed the 15 year decline in participation of the 8a program and how the SBA wants to change that trend. They are now looking to significantly increase the participation in the business development program with Drive 8a. With the new strategic initiatives the SBA wants to ensure that if you currently have 8a they partner you with a mentor to help your business begin obtaining federal contracts from DoD agencies. All of my podcast guests to date, past award winners went through this program.
This is also the same program I leveraged to win more than $20 million dollars in federal awards over the last 11 years. Pro Tip: SAM SPAM. Before you respond to an unsolicited bid from someone be aware that there are a lot of fraudsters perpetrating government agencies. Same thing goes for registration renewals. The government will never solicit anyone for payment for any service. Government services are funded by taxpayers so you have already paid for the right to use them. Do not pay twice.
