I recently agreed to work with my first consulting client out of Rhode Island. This subscriber reached out to me on April 15, 2018. After a 30 minute discussion we met for coffee to discuss his plans of helping another 8a firm.
We spent 2 months back and forth working with staff to produce the necessary market research that I needed to start implementing strategies towards landing a their first federal project.
On August 2, 2018 we were offered two (2) sole source contracts by a federal agency.
Additionally on another multi-million dollar project, the agency extended the project response date so that we could submit a proposal.
On a third job we were informed that we would likely be the only bidder.

Results like these are typical for firms/people who have mentors, proper training, and guidance. The one's who do the activities and put in the work.
I know that I can personally expedite the process of winning contracts for anyone who has the will, desire and puts forth the effort.
My plan is to take 5 initial students who want to be government consultants and spend 20 weeks working with them directly to help land their first federal contract.
We will have weekly calls and learning sessions as a collective group. I will work directly with the students helping at every step of the process; proposal writing, capability statements, soliciting agencies, attending meetings and bidding the job.
I am looking for 5 students to take from start to finish of winning a federal contract.
