| If you’re serious about this business-building thing, I can’t stress enough the words of wisdom from someone who’s been there, done that.
And he’s done it to the tune of millions upon millions of dollars in sales for clients.
I’m talking about Dan Kennedy of Magnetic Marketing - one of the most revered marketing advisors to entrepreneurs in the world. And one of the greatest direct response copywriters of all time.
In a nutshell, he knows what he’s doing -- so listen up.
Dan’s words are some of the most valuable ever written in business:
“Do what you’re best at and can make the most money. Outsource everything else.”
Let that sink in.
Think about your everyday life. If your goal is to maximize your potential, to scale your income . . .
. . . then you have to play to your strengths.
Your strengths = your money-makers.
That means you have to stop doing things that don’t make you money.
Coding your own website? Uh, that’s why there are developers who can do it faster, better, and at a fraction of the time you could.
That hour to mow the lawn? You could make five prospect calls or close a deal for the 20 bucks you pay the neighbor kid to do it.
Managing your own ads? Go for it . . . if you want to give yourself an instant headache and like gambling with your own money. With the ever-changing landscape of complicated algorithms and iOS updates, leave the mayhem to the pros and hire an experienced agency.
Time for an oil change? — that’s more lost time you COULD be spending to write the proposal you really need to send. (The DIY oil change is a thing of the past anyway, folks.)
I think you get the idea . . .
All of the examples above are meaningless distractions—or what I’d like to call creative avoidance.
They only hold you back from spending MORE time doing the things that actually matter and create long-term momentum.
So hire a virtual assistant.
Automate tasks.
Outsource everything that you can.
Focus on what you do best—and can make the most money.
Trust me on this one: Dan’s right.
I challenge you to take an inventory of what you waste time on. And set a goal for yourself to outsource those items as quickly as possible.
