| You never forget your first sale.
I still remember mine. It was like the whole online marketing thing just clicked at that very moment. Somewhere in the world, someone thought that what I was offering was good enough for them to pay their hard-earned money for.
But it’s more than that.
I’m a part of a group of affiliate marketers and we have an awesome tightly-knit community over there - and among other things, people share their success stories.
One of them put a smile on my face.
“It’s such a great feeling to get my first juicy commission… but it’s an even better feeling to know that this course will probably change someone’s life,” someone wrote.
I couldn’t agree more.
Making money is good and all. But when you promote high-quality products that can legitimately change the entire trajectory of someone’s life… and you start making sales… it’s like a whole new purpose has been given to you.
First, your productivity soars.
When you have a good why beyond “I want to make money to buy X” when there are other people to genuinely help and you truly feel in your heart of hearts that you’re doing just that… you won’t waste time on Facebook or YouTube. Instead, you’ll work like a mad person to get things out there… because other people need them.
Second, your work will no longer make you miserable.
Instead, you’ll attack every day with gusto, execute, and never waste time. You won’t feel profoundly unhappy every day of your life - and things that make you happy will make you happy forever - instead of just a short burst of happiness when you, for example, buy a new iPhone.
And finally… you’ll no longer feel like you’re living someone else’s story.
You’re going to be your own person.
So how do you start?
It all starts with picking your contribution to the world.
By the way, I might have some things I’d love for you to consider over time - and I’ll send them to you as they come to mind - but ultimately, it’s your decision. So don’t feel pressured.
When you’ve decided on what your contribution will be, focus on making a sale - and I mean a sale in a broader sense than just a monetary transaction. It could be as simple as getting a thank you from someone online or offline first!
Remember, baby steps.
Stop consuming. Start contributing.
To Your Success, Paul Hanson
