| | The picture that you see below is of my 101-year-old mother who just celebrated her birthday on December 18th. What you see there is me playing a song that I wrote and dedicated to her and my father. The original lyric to the song was written over 50 years ago after I left the family farm. I dug up the old lyrics earlier this year, made some additions and changes to the verses, and collaborated with Douglas Haines to produce the song. In the picture, I offered earbuds to my mother so she could hear the song. It brought a smile to her and some memories of years past which was exactly the reward I sought.
