If you've never been to Yosemite valley in the California Sierras, then I'd advise you to put that on the bucket list! It is truly one of nature's great wonders and no wonder why it's been dubbed "God's Garden".
Along with that trip was the threat of the wildfires that I'm sure most of you have heard about in northern California. We were fortunate in that we had a very clear day while we were there. I've attached some pictures for your viewing.
You'll see me standing in front of El Capitan and also a full shot of El Capitan separately - this behemoth granite rock formation rises 3,000 feet above the valley floor! We actually saw climbers on the rock - it takes some study because they are the size of ants when viewing from where we were.
The other shots here is one across the valley with half dome in the distance and inside the great hall at The Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite. Book in advance since this is a very popular place with incredible food. |
