| I read a post today of a speech given by a retired baseball coach several years ago.
He shows up on stage with an actual home plate hung from his neck and asked the audience what is the width of the plate?
Then he asked whether the plate size was different for little league, high school, college, minor leages or the majors and the answer to all of the questions was "no" - the size of home plate is the same in all of baseball.
Yes, if you didn't know before, you do know now - home plate is 17 inches across and the size hasn't changed no matter what!
