Subject: #ImpSci questions on our forum: definitions, strategies to generate awareness?

Your fellow members have questions for you...

Currently, we are trying to create awareness regarding implementation science practices in Pakistan from a multi-sectoral perspective.
Looking for innovative ideas.

What's your favorite definition of implementation science? And, does it differ from how you more conversationally explain implementation science to people outside the field? A couple examples:

  • The scientific study of methods to promote the systematic uptake of research findings and other evidence-based practices into routine practice, and, hence, to improve the quality and effectiveness of health services (Eccles & Mittman, 2006).

  • The study of how evidence-based programmes can be embedded to maximize successful outcomes (Kelly & Perkins, 2012).

  • Implementation science is the study of factors that influence the full and effective uptake, use, and scaling of innovations in practice.
