Subject: GIS needs your help -- GIC 2024 is coming!

GIS needs your voice!

Hello Friend,

With all that is going on in the world, we have no shortage of challenges to our optimism, distractions from our focus, and obstacles to see the improvements we seek achieved. In the face of these and other concerns, GIS remains dedicated to quality improvement across all sectors and committed to the betterment of humanity as a whole. At its heart, the practice and study of implementation allows us to harness our collective curiosity and brilliance and to channel those incredible assets into work that serves populations, fields of work, and communities who are most vulnerable to exploitative systems. In short, implementation provides an invaluable challenge to “business as usual,” especially when the status quo reinforces inequality, inequity, or injustice.

This past September, GIS challenged our community and members to use implementation science as a tool to advance the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. During our three-day summit, implementation science provided the common ground to think of a better, brighter future together. We heard from experts in healthcare, education, and criminal justice about how they use IS to help guide their work. It was an inspiring three days of community and discussion, and we thank all those who participated offering their time and expertise to this vibrant and diverse network of professionals.

In order to further advance Implementation Science and the individuals behind it, GIS is pleased to announce the return of the Global Implementation Conference to be held in late 2024. This conference aims to do what GIS does best: recognizing, advancing and connecting a passionate community dedicated to closing the gaps between the best available knowledge, the most relevant first hand experience, and the frontline practice realities across professional sectors.

WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK - please take two minutes to fill out this survey!

While we are still in the planning and preparation stages of this conference, we want to invite YOU, our GIS members, to become involved in this conference. If you have ideas for presentations, speakers, themes, or anything else you want to see highlighted, we encourage you to reach out to us directly. All ideas will be considered by our committee leadership! Collaboration is critical if we are to successfully progress our own work alongside the science of implementation!

If you would like to be directly involved in the planning process, please reach out to Mads, madeline@gpsforgrowth.com to learn how to access our asynchronous workspace.

Thank you for your continued involvement and commitment to the Global Implementation Society. Never has your work been more important than it is now! It is both a personal and professional privilege to support this incredible group’s collective efforts.

Take care and be safe.

In gratitude,

GIS staff
